My Favourite MAC Lipsticks

Hey everyone,

Happy Sunday, the past week flew!

For today's post, I want to talk about my favourite MAC Cosmetics Lipsticks (you might have gathered that from the title!!). I know they are a bit pricier then some lipsticks at €19.50, but in my opinion they are totally worth it. They last ages, they have a HUGE colour range and they look pretty too, I love the plain black packaging, I think it looks sleek and sophisticated.

First up is "Flat Out Fabulous". This is a beautiful blue toned hot pink (great for making teeth appear whiter) and it has a "Retro Matte" finish. This wouldn't be a great lippie to wear if you have super dry lips so I would recommend using a lip scrub and a good moisturising lip balm before you start your makeup. By the time you get around to doing your lips they should be nice and soft then.

Next is "Ruby Woo", I think everyone has heard of this. It is the ultimate red lipstick. It is blue toned too and SO long lasting, as in it DOES. NOT. BUDGE. It is a Retro Matte too.

Next we have "Russian Red", although quite similar to Ruby Woo, a little bit darker maybe, I find this baby easier to work with as it as not as drying as Ruby Woo. It is still matte (and blue toned - do you sense a pattern forming yet?) but its just that bit more moisturising.

Now onto purples - first is "Heroine" and I LOVE this one. It is such a bright, fun colour and it is matte so it lasts ages on the lips.

"Up The Amp" is a muted purple/pink. I only really wear this when I have tan on because I don't know if it suits me other wise, but I love this one. It is more wearable then Heroine in my opinion. It has an Amplified finish, it has a little bit of a shine and it is more moisturising then some of the others that I have mentioned.

Last but not least is my NO.1 every day fave, "Faux". This is a Satin finish pinky nude, it goes with every look and doesn't give you that "foundation lips" look. Think your lip colour only better. I would recommend this colour for everyone as it can be changed up by using a darker liner underneath too so it is pretty versatile.

What are your favourite MAC shades? I would love some new recommendations!

Update!!!

Hey everyone,

Sorry I haven't blogged in about 1639540 years, to be honest I just forgot about it for ages and then by the time I started thinking about it again I felt it was too late to start again! But anyway after a very busy couple of months I am back in action and promise to post more - I have SOOO much products to review.

I recently spent 3 weeks inter-railing around Europe, so you can expect a post or 2 about that. I would also like to do some more travel posts - not necessarily on places I've been, but also places I'd like to go (New York, New York!).

I've just bought my first apartment, and done up my room at home as I'm not moving into the apartment yet, so I will more then likely do some interior inspo posts. At the moment I am obsessed with vintage and shabby chic looks.

I joined Slimming World a couple of weeks ago and am finding it great so if I come across any nice recipes or meal ideas I will be sure to post them on here.

Anyway, sorry again for the lengthy absence, I am back now!

Chat soon,

Sandra Gillen Makeup Artistry Master Class

Happy miserable, wet, rainy Monday everybody!

I haven't posted in ABSOLUTELY AGES, so what better way to kick things off again then to do a post on the lovely day I had yesterday, at Sandra Gillen Make-Up Artistry's master class. (https://www.facebook.com/sandragillenmakeupartistry?fref=ts)

The class was held in the Pillo Hotel & Spa in Galway (https://www.facebook.com/PilloHotelandSpaGalway?fref=ts). It started at 10.30am and finished at 2.30, which was the perfect length for a class. There were 8 of us in the class, which wasan ideal number, as we all brought our own makeup and brushes, and it meant Sandra could go around and give each of us assistance in areas where we may have needed it.

Firstly, we did a day look, with simple eye shadow, liner, subtle contouring etc. After a break and a cup of tea, we were shown how to bring our day look into a darker night time look. Sandra cam around to each of us and even helped us with the dreaded liner flick, as it is different for everyone and their eye shapes. She showed us how to choose colours suitable for our eye colours, and how to apply lashes. We then chose a lipstick and blush to suit the over all look, and we were good to go. This is my finished look, excuse the posing!

I went away with a list the length of my arm of newbies to buy but I was restrained and only bought two! MAC Lipstick in "Japanese Maple" and "Harmony" Blush for countouring.

I cannot do this post without mentioning the DIVINE cupcakes we received, courtesy of Bake Me Happy (https://www.facebook.com/BakeMeHappy.ie?fref=ts) , how is it? The icing was like nothing I have ever tasted, go and put in an order now!!

We also received lovely goody bags sponsored by Feely's Pharmacy in Tuam (https://www.facebook.com/FeelysPharmacy?fref=ts) which I forgot to take a photo of - my apologies.

Below are some more photos of the set up on the day, sorry they are not great quality - really need to get a camera!

Sandra is a fantastic makeup artist, and also a brilliant teacher, she makes everything seem so easy! She is full of knowledge about practically every makeup product ever known to man kind, in all the years I have known her I have never left her without new bits of information.  I picked up so so many tips through out the day and I really enjoyed the class.

I would highly recommend sending her a message and booking onto one of these courses so that you can see for yourself.

Chat soon,

ITWBN

Hi everyone,

Sorry about the lack of posts lately - I have had no wifi at home (thanks Vodafone....) and it is difficult to blog on my phone as it keeps hopping to photos! Anyway - finally!! Here is my Blog post about the recent Into The West Bloggers Network meetup, held in the Radisson Blu a few weeks ago. Firstly, I would like to thank Sinead & Saibh for organising such a fab day - it was easy to see the amount of hard work put into the day and I am already waiting patiently (ish!) for May.

On the day we had various different speakers - Kate from Cocoa Brown Tan, Siobhan from letz Make Up, Richie from Beutifi.ie, Marika from OMiG and last but not least....... The Galway Player!! We also had lots of time to mingle, eat & drink, and look around the various pop up shops. (ATIR Shapewear, Debenhams, Youngblood Cosmetics, Peter Mark to name but a few).

On the morning of the event, I met Sandra (https://ablushingcailin.wordpress.com/author/ablushingcailin/) and Kerri (http://bellaandvogue.blogspot.ie/) in Tuam and I traveled up with them. It was lovely to get to know some new people and compare blogging notes.

Can we just take a minute to appreciate the goodie bags that we were given! I couldn't believe it and I almost cried at the generosity, I am looking forward to reviewing all the products we were very kindly given to try out. Thanks to Cocoa Brown, McSharry's Pharmacy and all of the other contributors and sponsors.

I will be back to more regular blogging once I have proper wifi again,

Superdrug, Boots & Poundland Haul + Competition Details

Hey guys

Hope you all had a nice weekend! I was up north and of course did a little bit of shopping.... Here's an overview of what I bought.

Firstly, I went to Poundland, just for the bronzer below. Loads of bloggers (in particular From matte to Metallic, where I first spotted it) have been raving about this, saying that it's an exact dupe for MAC's "Give Me Sun", and for only £1 pound, I said I'd have to give it a go! Looking forward to trying it out properly, it looks lovely when swatched though, I love really warm toned bronzers.

Next I popped into Super Drug of course. I was dying to get my hands on some Make-Up Revolution goodies. This "Vivid Baked Bronzer" in the shade "Rock On World"  really caught my eye. I haven't had a chance to use it properly yet but I just gave it a quick go yesterday and it's VERY pigmented, be careful! It cost £3.

I also picked up a hilighter from the same range - it's called "Pink Lights" but it looks more like Lilac to me. Anyway - we will soon see what it's like. Also £3.

I also picked up this faaaab eyeshadow palette from Barry M, I actually only got it for red colour third from the left, but I really like them all. They seem to be highly pigmented and very buttery. This only cost £6.59, so probably under £10.

I then went to Boots and picked up the new Estee Lauder "Little Black Primer" lash primer. I haven't tried it yet but it claims to lengthen and curl lashes, and it can be used by itself as a tint, under mascara to prolong wear, and over mascara to seal it, make it waterproof and reduce flaking. It will be interesting to see how this one fares out.

I am giving away all the goodies in the below picture - pop over to my Facebook (www.facebook.com/chloereidymakeup) and my Instagram (chloereidymakeup) for 2 chances to win!

Thanks for reading,
